Erica Nocita
Erica started her drag racing career by competing in bracket races with her street car, a 1964 SS Chevelle, racing against the local track heroes. She soon began winning and gaining the respect of "The Boys" she was racing against and not only holding her own but beating some of the best racers around. Erica soon moved up to the point of needing her NHRA competition license so it was off to Pomona and Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School. She licensed in her dad's 1966 big block Nova and began attracting a lot of attention with her skill behind the wheel and consistently quick reaction times. Known as "The Fastest Girl at Irwindale" with and 1/8 mile e.t. of 5.67 @ 120 mph, opportunity knocked when GM Racing approached her to pilot the soon to be released 2005 Chevy Cobalt. After the car was debuted at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in 2004, Erica took delivery of the car in early 2005 and didn't waste any time getting up to speed winning her first race i n May, a Summit Racing Series event, against all V8 cars! Erica and her ECOtec powered Cobalt have proven to be a winning combination with NHRA national event wins and an NHRA National Championship in 2006.
